About the project
CLEVERFOOD will help get people from across society involved in transforming Europe’s food system in line with the EU Food 2030 Policy Framework, Farm to Fork Strategy, EU Missions, EU Bioeconomy Strategy, the European Urban Initiatives and Fit for 55 Package.
The goal of the project is to pave the way for a fair, healthy and sustainable food system. To do this, it will support new and current projects, partnerships and networks with a joined-up and collaborative approach.
The methodology used is made of: 1) Policy Labs, 2) Living Labs and 3) Pan-European multi-actor and public engagement. This will allow us to mobilise society to transform food systems by establishing the FOOD 2030 Project Collaboration Network and the FOOD 2030 Connected Lab Network.
The Policy Labs will develop transformative governance models and strategies for advancing food policies and legislation. To do this, we will launch a peer-learning programme, organise stakeholder dialogue and bring together policy makers from all levels of governance.
Living Labs will accelerate social and technical innovation to support food system transformation. Measures include: co-creating strategies for removing lock-ins and for building sustainable food value chains; mobilising impact investors; promoting the uptake of new technologies and tracking the transformation of the food sytem.
Via the Policy and Living Labs, we will support food system science education for children and young people, and they will set up a collaborative network to improve teaching in higher education.
PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT TOOLKIT
A pan-European FOOD 2030 Multi-actor and Public Engagement Toolkit will be developed and deployed to support multi-actor, public engagement and citizen science activities in the Policy Labs and Living Labs. The toolkit will be based on a wide variety of participatory methods and tools including dialogue meetings, co-creation and co-analysis workshops, reflexive learning sessions, hackathons, (reverse) science cafés, photography walking tours, citizen platforms, transition arenas, food policy councils
