With “Cities that grow: framing the urban future with AI, art and nature,” the Cleverfood podcast, co-produced by Slow Food and ICONS Innovation Strategies, comes to a close
In this fourth and final episode, host Valentina Gritti from the Slow Food Youth Network takes listeners to the forefront of sustainable food innovation, interviewing Lija Groenewoud van Vliet, Creative Director at In4Art, and co-coordinator of the European project Hungry EcoCities. She explains how In4Art focuses on art-driven responsible innovation, combining scientific research, technological development and artistic experimentation to generate new approaches to sustainability, including in the food system.
This approach is also at the core of Hungry EcoCities, which brings together artists, scientists and industry actors to develop art-driven, AI-enabled experiments across the food value chain. Through residencies and collaborative projects, the initiative explores how technology and artistic innovation can contribute to healthier food systems.
The second part of the episode takes on a more polyphonic dimension and unfolds during the Grand Gathering, the final event of Hungry EcoCities. Here, Valentina Gritti meets several artists involved in the project, including Jeroen Van Der Most, creator of Vegetable Vendetta, Laila Snevele, creator of Phygital Seasoning and Nicolas Rotta with InstaGreen, behind Re-Source Society.
