As part of the CLEVERFOOD project, SusMetro and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) are hosting the first webinar in a two-part series exploring how to monitor and support food system transformation across Europe.
Targeted at Living Labs (LLs), FOOD 2030 projects, cities and regions, researchers and policymakers, the webinar will focus on transformative governance and the role of innovation processes in Living Labs. It will introduce the Food System Transition Governance at the Level of Living Labs framework developed by CLEVERFOOD, highlighting its rationale, monitoring approach, insights from European LLs and key lessons and recommendations.
Through expert perspectives and practical LL experiences, participants will explore how monitoring can support meaningful transformation, help identify governance challenges and generate knowledge to inform policy and practice. The webinar will also provide a space to exchange experiences and discuss how monitoring can become more useful and manageable, how LLs can learn from one another and how the FOOD 2030 community can strengthen monitoring efforts across Europe.
This first webinar will be followed by a second session co-organised with FutureFoodS focusing on monitoring food system transitions at the LL level and introducing the concept of “sentinel sites’’. This session is planned to take place in early January 2027. Together, the two webinars aim to connect governance approaches within LLs with the broader monitoring of Europe’s food system transitions, helping turn strategies into action.
