Following the successful launch of the CLEVERFOOD Summer School in 2025, the European School Innovation Academy is organising the 2026 edition, taking place from 5 to 10 July, near the historic location of Marathon, at the outskirts of Athens.

This unique professional development opportunity is designed for teachers, school heads and educators, offering an immersive learning experience that empowers schools to act as innovation incubators within the food system, following the Schools as Living Labs approach. Through this methodology, paired with the open schooling concept, participants will explore how schools can become agents of community well-being, working to shape a fair, healthy, and sustainable food system.

The 2026 edition deepens these themes with a focus on the food system as a societal, environmental and economic priority, fully aligned with the EU FOOD 2030 Agenda.

By participating, you’ll:

  • Learn how schools can lead innovation and community engagement around food system transformation;
  • Gain hands-on experience with living labs, inclusive pedagogies and citizen science;
  • Build networks with educators and food system actors from across Europe.
